CAREER AT A GLANCE
· Gearing enters her second full season (started with Penn State midway through the 2022-23 campaign) with the Nittany Lions as the program’s director of operations while also handling various assistant coaching duties.
AT PENN STATE
· During her first season as an assistant coach with Penn State’s mid-d/distance squad, Gearing saw outstanding success.
· The Nittany Lion women’s cross country program qualified to the NCAA Championships as a team for the first time since 2019. At the regional level, the men’s and women’s groups produced six combined All-Region honorees.
· Penn State competed very well at the conference level during the 2023-24 track seasons, with the women’s group placing second as a team and the men’s group finishing third at indoor Big Tens.
· In 2023, her first season on staff with the Nittany Lions, Gearing saw her sister, Rachel, break Penn State’s outdoor 800-meter school record and win the Big Ten Indoor 800-meter title.
BEFORE PENN STATE
· Gearing competed at Clemson during her undergrad years and finished her collegiate career as a graduate student at Kentucky where she earned First Team All-America honors on the Wildcats’ 2022 DMR team.
