Jennifer Koebel has joined the department as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Finance and Business Operations in October 2025. Koebel oversees all aspects of Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics’ financial operations, including budget management, strategic planning, financial reporting and analysis, capital projects and contract proposals.
In his new role and with the ever-changing landscape of college athletics, Kaluza supports a multitude of revenue and operationally-focused areas, including oversight of the Penn State Golf Courses, Penn State Sport Camps, Pegula Ice Arena and Oak View Group (OVG). Kaluza continues as the sport administrator for the National Championship wrestling team.
Koebel joins Penn State after 10 years with Toledo athletics, most recently serving as the Senior Associate AD of Business and Financial Operations. In that role, she managed the day-to-day financial and business operations of the athletics department. She developed financial strategies to maximize efficiency, identified new revenue streams and managed expenditure reductions. During her time at Toledo, Koebel oversaw athletics equipment department, licensing, merchandise, and concessions operations, including liaison duties with Rocky’s Locker and third-party concessionaire.
In addition, Koebel managed all Human Resource operations within the department, including hiring, personnel budgeting, and policy adherence. She also served as the sport administrator for softball.
Koebel served one year as a senior treasury analyst for the University of Toledo and worked for six years at Nu-Tek Steel as a controller for its finance department.
Koebel graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bowling Green State University in 1994. She earned her MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2006.
Koebel and her husband, David, have three daughters Victoria, Katelyn and Courtney.
