Tom Morris serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance at Penn State University. In this role, he oversees the comprehensive athletic performance model for Penn State Athletics, supporting the development of student-athletes through evidence-based strength and conditioning, leadership, and high-performance systems.
Morris is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association and is a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Club Coach.
A proud Penn State graduate, Morris began his career in Happy Valley as an undergraduate and graduate assistant strength coach for Penn State Football (2003–2004). He went on to serve as Director of Strength and Conditioning at La Salle University from 2004–2005 before beginning an 18-year tenure at Indiana University. From 2005–2023, he served as Senior Assistant Athletic Director for Strength and Conditioning, overseeing performance programs across multiple sports and helping build a nationally respected athletic performance department.
In 2023, Morris returned to Penn State as Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance, bringing with him two decades of leadership experience, a passion for developing resilient competitors, and a commitment to maximizing student-athletes’ potential on and off the field.
