Zac Cazzelle is entering his third season as a volunteer assistant coach at Penn State. A graduate of Oklahoma State, Cazzelle came to State College after spending a year at Centenary College in Shreveport, La. as an assistant coach.
While at Centenary, his primary responsibility was serving as the team[apos]s hitting coach. During his year there, the Gents led the Mid-Continent Conference in several offensive categories. He also served as the team[apos]s recruiting coordinator.
Prior to his season at Centenary, Cazzelle was the facilities manager for Oklahoma State[apos]s Allie P. Reynolds Stadium for two seasons while working on his bachelor[apos]s degree in sociology. He also played baseball for one season at Oklahoma State in 2001. Before playing for the Cowboys, Cazzelle played his freshman season at Centenary and his sophomore year at Northern Oklahoma Junior College. In this three collegiate playing stops, he hit over .300 for his collegiate career. He also played basketball at Oklahoma State for two seasons. In his final season on the basketball team, the Cowboys advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
Cazzelle resides in State College and is engaged to Julie Tanner.
