NORFOLK, Va., November 29, 2005 - Old Dominion scored 49 second-half points and the Lady Lions fell to the Lady Monarchs in Norfolk, 93-61 on Tuesday night.

Adrienne Squire (Indianapolis, Ind.) led Penn State with 20 points in the loss, while Amanda Brown (Kennett Square, Pa.) added 15.

Squire hit six 3-pointers in the game, a new career high for the sharp-shooting sophomore. Squire's shooting was a bright spot for the Lions in the contest as the Lady Lion suffered several bad breaks in the game, beginning with Mashea Williams (Erie, Pa.) who went down in the second minute in the game with a right knee injury and did not return.

Penn State opened the second half with a bucket by Squire to cut the lead to 44-37. Old Dominion responded with a 17-5 run from the 19:38 mark to the 13:50 mark to take a 60-42 lead. The Lions battled back to within 12 with just under 11 minutes to play, but the Lady Monarchs went on another big run to put the game away.

Old Dominion opened the game by hitting eight of its first 10 shots to take a 22-9 lead. The Lady Monarchs eventually cooled off, and the Lady Lions climbed back in the game behind the hot shooting of Squire, who hit five 3-pointers in the first half and Penn State went into the break behind, 44-35. The late-half surge came without the services of freshman guard Mashea Williams, (Erie, Pa.) who went down early in the first half with a right knee injury. Williams did not return in the contest and will undergo further evaluation when the team returns to State College.

The Lady Lions return to the Bryce Jordan Center for a two-game homestand vs. Pitt at 7 p.m. on Friday and Texas Tech at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Friday's matchup will be aired by WPSU-TV while Sunday's game will air on espn2. Both contests will also air on the Penn State Sports Radio Network. WBUS and WMAJ will air the game locally in State College. Penn State's official athletics website, www.GoPSUsports.com will carry the audio feed, along with a link to the GameTracker feature.
