Junior Jenny Shular and the Nittany Lions will host #30 Michigan Friday at 5 p.m. at the Sarni Tennis Center off of Bigler Road, and admission is free. Both Penn State and Michigan are looking for their fifth-straight win.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; March 22, 2007 ?C The Penn State women??s tennis team (7-6, 1-1 Big Ten) will look to earn their fifth consecutive win on Friday when they host No. 30 Michigan at the Penn State Indoor Tennis Center in a Big Ten battle. First serve is set for 5 p.m., and admission is free.

Penn State is coming off of a doubleheader sweep of the Toledo Rockets (6-1) and the Lehigh Mountain Hawks (7-0) Sunday at the PSU Indoor Tennis Center. The win over Lehigh marked Penn State??s first shutout since a 7-0 win over Bucknell on March 22, 2006. Highlighting the day for the Nittany Lions was senior Sasha Abraham (Hyderabad, India) and sophomore Lauren Holzberg (Easton, Conn.). The pair combined for first doubles wins over Toledo??s Martina Wodzinski and Maha Guiguis (8-3) and Lehigh??s Gwen Dwyer and Allison Schwartz (8-1). Junior Jenny Shular (Peachtree City, Ga.) also thrived in her matches, grabbing a ??W?? against Nadia Zoubareva of Toledo (6-2, 6-2) and Allison Schwartz of Lehigh (6-1, 6-0).

Michigan (7-5, 1-1) is coming to University Park as the second-highest ranked Big Ten team. The Wolverines have also won four consecutive wins, most recently defeating No. 54 Alabama by a 6-1 margin on March 17.

Following the match with Michigan, Penn State will take a week to prepare for home Big Ten matches against Iowa on Friday, March 30 at 5 p.m. and Minnesota Sunday, April 1 and 11 a.m. These home contests will be held at the Sarni Tennis Center, and admission is free.
