UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; May 7, 2007 ?C The head coaches of the Penn State football and basketball programs will be among the Nittany Lion head coaches slated to attend the ??Celebrating Penn State Athletics?? event in the Delaware Valley on Monday, May 21.
Football coach Joe Paterno, Nittany Lion basketball coach Ed DeChellis and new women??s basketball coach Coquese Washington are scheduled to attend, as is new women??s soccer coach Erica Walsh, who is from Huntingdon Valley, Pa. Director of Athletics Tim Curley, Joe Battista, Executive Director of the Nittany Lion Club, and Roger Williams, Executive Director of the Penn State Alumni Association, also are expected to attend.
The event will be held in the Convention Center of the Radisson Valley Forge Hotel in King of Prussia. The reception is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program at 6:30 p.m.
The event is co-sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association, the Nittany Lion Club and Intercollegiate Athletics.
Admission is $35 for Penn State Alumni Association and Nittany Lion Club members and $45 for non-members. Hors d??oeuvres and a cash bar will be provided. There will be a silent auction and raffle to support Penn State scholarships.
