UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., August 19, 2007 - Two programs previewing the 2007 Penn State football team are set to air this week as the Nittany Lions' Sept. 1 season opener nears.
FSN Pittsburgh will air aits Penn State preview on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m. FSN's Paul Alexander is the host of the program.
WTAJ-TV, Channel 10 in Altoona, will air its Nittany Lion preview on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 7:30 p.m. Sports Director Kellie Goodman is the host of the program.
Paterno's 42nd Nittany Lion team returns 15 starters and 32 letterwinners for the 2007 season, which launches with "Penn State Football Eve, presented by Sheetz" on Friday, August 31 in Beaver Stadium. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and festivities inside the stadium begin at 7:30 p.m. The event and parking are free.
Penn State will face six teams that played in bowl games last season, three of whom are ranked in the Associated Press Top 15: Michigan (5), Wisconsin (7) and Ohio State (11).
The No. 17 Nittany Lions are concluding their second week of practice in preparation for the Sept. 1 season opener with Florida International in Beaver Stadium. The contest will kick off at 12:00 p.m. and will be featured on the opening weekend of football telecasts on the Big Ten Network, which launches on August 30.
The Big Ten Network also will televise Penn State's Sept. 15 home game with Buffalo (12:00 p.m.) and at least one conference game this season.
