UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Fifty radio stations in four states will carry the Penn State Sports Network' AIG Auto Insurance Nittany Lion Hotline Show in 2007-08, with the season debut program set to air on Thursday, August 23.
The one hour call-in program airs every Thursday at 6:05 p.m. from late August through mid-March. Coach Joe Paterno is on the program during the football season. The basketball season features Nittany Lion coach Ed DeChellis.
Fans can call 1-800-52-LIONS (525-4667) to ask questions of the coaches.
Steve Jones, the radio play-by-play voice of the Nittany Lion football and basketball teams, is host of AIG Auto Insurance Nittany Lion Hotline. Jeff Tarman in the producer of the show.
In addition to the 50 stations carrying the program, Nittany Lion Hotline and all Penn State football and basketball broadcasts can be heard at www.GoPSUsports.com, the official website of Penn State Athletics. In order to listen to streamed Hotline broadcast on GoPSUsports.com, listeners will need to subscribe to Penn State All-Access on the website.
AIG Auto Insurance Nittany Lion Hotline can be heard on stations throughout Pennsylvania as well as New York City, parts of Upstate New York, Wilmington, Del. and Hagerstown, Md.
No. 17 Penn State hosts Florida International in the season opener on Sept. 1 at 12:00 p.m. in Beaver Stadium.
In his 42nd season as head coach, Paterno's team returns 15 starters and 32 letterwinners for the 2007 season, which launches with Penn State Football Eve, presented by Sheetz on Friday, August 31 in Beaver Stadium. Stadium gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and festivities inside the stadium begin at 7:30 p.m. There is no admission or parking fee for Penn State Football Eve, presented by Sheetz.
