Oct. 21, 2007

NORFOLK, Va. - Penn State's Jenny Shular (Peachtree City, Ga.) continued play at the NCAA/ITA East Regional in Norfolk, Va. today. She earned a first round win yesterday before falling in the round of 64.

Shular faced fifth-seeded Katarina Zoricic of William & Mary who had a bye in the first round. Shular came out on top first, earning a tough 7-5 victory in the first set. However, Zoricic was not to be defeated and came back to win the next two sets (6-3, 6-2).

"Shular fought hard today," said head coach Dawna Prevette. "The bottom line is we need to get better."

After having two weeks off, the Nittany Lions will host the Penn State Invitational Nov. 9-11 at the Sarni Tennis Center.
