UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The 14th-ranked Penn State women's gymnastics team dropped its home opener to No. 6 Michigan, 195.275-195.100, Saturday night at Rec Hall. The meet was televised by the Big Ten Network and will air on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 6:00 p.m. ET.

As a team, Penn State recorded scores of 49.075 on vault, 48.700 on bars, 48.650 on beam and 48.675 on floor. Michigan posted scores of 49.075 on vault, 49.300 on bars, 48.050 on beam and 48.850 on floor.

Penn State sophomore Brandi Personett (Katy, Texas) claimed the all-around title with a season-high 39.350, earning the top spot on both vault and floor with a 9.900 on each. Michigan's Lindsey Bruck placed second in the all-around with a 38.575.

Sophomore Casey Rohrbaugh (Spring Grove, Pa.) was named the Ann Carr Award winner for the most inspirational performance of the meet.

Personett's first-place 9.900 on vault was her season high and sophomore Rosie Smith (Waterford, Pa.) placed fourth with a 9.825 in her first meet of the season, as she sat out with an injury last week at Pittsburgh. Rohrbaugh and sophomore Alexandra Brockway (Macungie, Pa.) each scored a 9.800 to tie for sixth as freshman Kristina Beck (Jacksonville, Fla.) and senior Aslynn Satterfield (Boalsburg, Pa.) scored a 9.750 and 9.725 to place ninth and 11th, respectively.

Michigan claimed the top three spots on the uneven bars with Becky Bernard taking home the title with a 9.900. Brockway was Penn State's top finisher with a fourth-place 9.850 and Personett placed sixth with a career-high 9.825. Sophomore Lindsey Montross (Roseville, Calif.) tallied a ninth-place 9.725, freshman Danielle Hover (Hamburg, N.Y.) notched a 10th-place and career-best 9.675, Smith posted an 11th-place 9.625 in her first collegiate competition on bars and Beck recorded an 8.975 for 12th.

Wolverine Bernard also captured the balance beam title with a 9.850 as Brockway placed third for Penn State with a personal-best 9.800. Rohrbaugh posted a season-high 9.750 for fifth and Montross and Personett each recorded a season-best 9.725 to tie for sixth. Freshman Melissa Klein (Oceanside, N.Y.) tallied an eighth-place 9.650 and freshman Heather McElwee (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) recorded a 9.475 for ninth.

On floor, Personett claimed the crown with a season-high-tying 9.900 as Satterfield claimed second with a season-high 9.850. Smith placed fifth by scoring a 9.750 as Beck and Rohrbaugh tallied a 9.600 and a 9.575, respectively to place ninth and 10th, as Klein notched a 9.125 for 12th.

Penn State travels to Arkansas on Jan. 25 before returning home to host West Virginia in a double-dual with the Nittany Lion men's team at 2:00 p.m. at Rec Hall.
