Penn State Women's Tennis No. 75 in Most Recent Poll

University Park, Pa.; - The Penn State women's tennis team (2-5, 1-1) is ranked No. 75 in the most recent ITA Collegiate Ranking. The team shares the rank with Mississippi State.

This is the Nittany Lions first ranking since March 1, 2005 when they were ranked No. 71. The women had just defeated Marshall University, 4-3, two days earlier on Feb. 27. Most recently, the team earned its first Big Ten win of the season with a 4-3 defeat of then No. 74 Wisconsin.

The Nittany Lions are one of nine Big Ten teams to be ranked in the Feb. 20 poll, including Northwestern (No. 2), Michigan (No. 21) and Indiana (No. 28).

The Nittany Lions are back home next weekend when they will take on West Virginia and Columbia. Action begins Friday, Feb. 29 at 5 p.m. against the Mountaineers at the Penn State Indoor Tennis Center. Admission is free.
