Six Swimmers, One Diver Head to Friday's Finals

Ann Arbor, Mich. - Six swimmers and one diver qualified for the finals on Friday night on the second day of the Big Ten Men's Swimming & Diving Championships. One swimmer, Pat Schirk, will swim in the 'A' finals of the 100 backstroke.

Schirk made the 'A' finals in the 100 back by finishing fourth in the morning prelims in :48.01. Dan Fimbianti will swim in the 'C' finals after finishing 15th in :49.86, his fastest time of the year.

In the 100 butterfly, both Tim Williams and Basil Kaaki qualified for the 'C' finals. Williams placed 15th in a season-best time of :48.41 while Kaaki placed 18th, also in a season-best time of :48.70.

In the 200 free, Sean Biedermann swam to his second NCAA 'B' time of the championships. After putting up a 'B' time in the 200 IM yesterday, Biedermann swam a time of 1:37.68 to finish 11th. Josh Graham finished 13th and also swam a 'B' time of 1:37.68.

In the diving events, Josh Bonner finished 16th with a score of 295.65 to qualify for the finals.

Tonight's finals will begin at 7:00 p.m.
