Lantana, Fla. - Friday's baseball game that was scheduled between Penn State and Penn at the Santaluces Sports Complex as part of the Papa John's Palm Beach Challenge has been cancelled due to unplayable field conditions that resulted from a downpour that occurred about an hour before the scheduled start of the game. The field was worked on for about two hours after the downpour but after inspecting the field, both coaches elected not to play the game due to the possibility of injuries due to the poor field conditions.
The game will not be made up, as Penn already has a doubleheader scheduled for tomorrow. Penn State will now play Bethune-Cookman tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
