The 23rd-ranked Penn State women's gymnastics team travels to Ann Arbor, Mich., to compete for the Big Ten title on Saturday, March 29 at 2:15 p.m. ET. The meet will be broadcast on a tape-delay basis on the Big Ten Network on Thursday, April 3 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Links to live scoring will be available at www.GoPSUsports.com.
Penn State At The Big Ten Championships
Heading into the Big Ten Championships Saturday at Michigan, Penn State ranks fourth in the league according to the GymInfo poll, with a Regional Qualifying Average of 195.045. The Wolverines sit atop the conference polls, with an RQS of 196.825 and have claimed the Big Ten title 14 of the last 16 years.
Last season Michigan edged out Penn State by the slimmest margin in Championships history, as the Wolverines claimed the title, 196.575-196.475 over the Nittany Lions.
Penn State, a member of the Big Ten since the 1992 season, has nine second-place finishes and four third-place finishes at the Championship meet during that time span. The Lions have produced 10 Big Ten Champions with 14 titles, including sophomore Brandi Personett, who last year claimed the vault and all-around titles in addition to being named Penn State's second-ever Big Ten Freshman Gymnast of the Year.
