Joe Paterno & Paul Posluszny Featured Speakers at Blue-White Pre-Game Luncheon

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - Coach Joe Paterno and former Penn State All-America linebacker Paul Posluszny will be the featured speakers at the Nittany Lion Club's Blue-White Luncheon.

Paterno and the 2008 senior football squad members are scheduled to attend the luncheon, which will be held on Saturday, April 19, prior to the Blue-White Game. The NLC event will take place in the Bryce Jordan Center. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. and the program begins at 10:30 a.m.

Tim Curley, Director of Athletics, and Joe Battista, Executive Director of the Nittany Lion Club also will speak at the event.

Head coaches from several Penn State squads also are scheduled to attend the Blue-White festivities.

The public and Nittany Lion Club members are invited to attend the event. To purchase tickets, call the Bryce Jordan Ticket Center at 814-865-5555 or visit the BJC Ticket Center Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person for the program, a box lunch and Nittany Lion Club gift. The deadline to reserve tickets is Monday, April 7.

Beaver Stadium Gates A&B will open for fans at 12:00 p.m. and the popular autograph session with the players will run from 12:30-1:15 p.m. Kickoff is at 2:00 p.m.

As in previous years, there will be no admission or parking fee for the Blue-White Game.

Penn State has won 31 of its last 40 games overall, with its victory total tied for eighth-best nationally over that span. During the past three seasons, the Nittany Lions have won the 2006 FedEx Orange Bowl, the 2007 Outback Bowl and the 2007 Valero Alamo Bowl.

In his 43rd season as head coach, Paterno welcomes back 37 letterwinners and 17 starters from last year's 9-4 team that defeated Texas A&M in the Alamo Bowl. Penn State was ranked in the final Top 25 polls for the 33rd time under Paterno (No. 25 USA Today Coaches).
