University Park, Pa. - The Penn State baseball team will begin a seven-game homestand on Tuesday night by hosting the Akron Zips for a midweek game at 6:35 p.m. The game will mark the first-ever matchup between the Nittany Lions and Zips on the baseball diamond.

Tuesday night's game will also mark the first start and appearance as a Nittany Lion for pitcher T.J. Macy. The junior college transfer from Scottsdale Community College and former draft pick of the Milwaukee Brewers will get the starting nod for the Nittany Lions.

Tuesday will also be Medlar Mania Student Night at the ballpark as 50% of the proceeds from student tickets, which are $2, will go to the American Cancer Society. There will also raffles and free give aways and as well as $1 hot dog night. There will also be a hot dog eating contest.
