Nittany Lion Lacrosse Player Andrew Mackrides Named USILA Academic All-American

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Penn State Nittany Lion lacrosse player Andrew Mackrides (Newtown Square, Pa.) has been named an Academic All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).

Mackrides was a senior captain on this year's Penn State team. He ended his final campaign with 16 points off 12 goals and four assists, good enough for third on the team. The Newtown Square native had 29 points over his four years with Penn State, scoring 22 goals and dishing off seven assists.

An outstanding student, Mackrides had over 3.0 GPA in Labor and Employment Relations and was an Academic All-Big Ten selection last year. Penn State went 7-7 in 2008.
