NEW YORK and CHICAGO - 2004 Penn State graduate Chi-Chi Aduba has found herself $25,000 richer after winning the Live with Regis in Kelly High Heel-a-thon in Central Park, which was featured on the program Wednesday morning. Aduba beat out hundreds of other heel-wearing women (and some men) in the first-ever running of the race, which benefitted the March of Dimes and was run in partnership with Dr. Scholl's For Her. Aduba sprinted 150-yards in three-inch heels in the televised final, after advancing through a 50-yard qualifying round on Wednesday morning. Aduba now holds the world record for the fastest 150 yards in high heels, which was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records after the race.
As a Nittany Lion, Aduba was a four-time NCAA All-American in the long and triple jumps. A multiple-time Big Ten champion, Aduba still holds claim to school records in the indoor long jump and triple jump, as well as the long jump and triple jump, and the 4x100- and 4x200-meter relays outdoors.
Aduba, a Queens, N.Y., resident, who works in the Brand Marketing department at Sports Illustrated, will be appearing on numerous programs throughout the week, including a return to Live with Regis and Kelly on Thursday morning.
