"Courtside With Coquese" Nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - "Courtside with Coquese" has been nominated for an Emmy® award by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Television Academy. The show, which takes a behind the scenes look at the Lady Lion Basketball program, is nominated in the Outstanding Sports Series category. The Mid-Atlantic Emmys® will be awarded on Sat., Sept. 13.

In addition to "Courtside with Coquese", "Inside the Eagles" from the Eagles Television Network, "Eagles Game Day Live" from Fox29, "Friday Night Football" from BRC TV-13 and "Sunday Kickoff" from CBS3 are also nominated in the Outstanding Sports Series Category.

Penn State Public Broadcasting (WPSU), in conjunction with the Penn State Athletic Department, produced the eight-episode season of "Courtside with Coquese". The production staff includes Bill Amin, coordinating producer; Topher Yorks, producer; Joe Chuba, associate producer; Mark Stitzer, lead editor; Chris Bloemker, editor; Mickey Klein, audio mix; Kelly Goodman, narrator and writer.

The Lady Lions being the 2008-09 campaign with an exhibition game against California (Pa.) on Sun., Nov. 9, before opening the 2008-09 regular-season campaign with a three-game homestand against South Carolina (Sun., Nov. 16), Stony Brook (Wed., Nov. 19) and Prairie View A&M (Fri., Nov. 21). Penn State will also participate in the Third Annual Maggie Dixon Classic at Madison Square Garden on Sun., Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. where it will face perennial national contender Connecticut, a game that will be televised on ESPNU.
