The Penn State Nittany Lion women's golf team claimed the top place finish at the Bucknell Invitational at Lewisburg, Pa., on Sunday.

After being postponed Saturday morning due to poor weather, the tournament took place with 36 holes of action.

The team finished on top with an impressive 313-297, nine strokes ahead of second-place Youngstown State.

Sophomore Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia) led the team, finishing second with a final score of 149.

"I think I played really well during the second round," Malcolmson said. "I was a little disappointed that I didn't play as well during the first round but I'm really happy with how everything turned out."

Malcolmson was followed by Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) who tied for fourth and Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) who placed seventh. Victoria Arena (Lansdale, Pa.) and Lindsay Cullen (Allen, Texas) also had finishes in the top 15.

Newcomers Emily Riddle (St. Mary's, Pa.) and Kellie Gustas (Hermitage, Pa.) competed as individuals, along with Kelly Osborne (Ballwin, Mo.). Riddle tied for ninth place with a final score of 156. Gustas tied for 18th with Osborne finishing tied for 23rd with scores of 162 and 164, respectively.
