BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Penn State wrapped up its fall season posting the best team score of the 8-team field at the Kelly Gutshall Invitational, shooting a 592 two-round total. The Nittany Lions led the tournament in both rounds, finishing 32 strokes ahead of the field, the best finish for the Lions this season.
Penn State junior Kevin Foley topped the leaderboard with a two-round four-under par (140) total to secure first place. Foley fired consecutive round of two-under par (70) to stay in first place for both rounds.
Junior T.J. Howe and freshman Nick Archambault also rounded out the top five in the tournament. Howe finished in second with a two-round one-under par (143). Howe posted a 74 in the first round and a three-under par (69) in the final round. Archambault finished in fifth place after shooting a two-round nine-over par total (153). Archambault shot a 76 first round and a 77 second round.
Sophomore Tommy McDonagh tied for 15th, posting a 158 two-round total. McDonagh shot rounds of 81 and 77 to finish at 14-over par. Junior Jim Markovitz finished tied for 20th with a 159 two-round total. Markovitz posted a 79 and 80 to finish at 15-over par.
The Nittany Lions will begin their Spring season at the Big Ten Match Play Championship on February 13th and 14th.
