Student-Athlete Advisory Board Auction to Support Dance Marathon

Nov. 12, 2008

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB) has once again put together the Athletes for the Kids Annual Online Auction. The auction, which runs from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 21, can be found at http://athletesforthekids.cstvauctions.com. Proceeds will support the Penn State Dance Marathon (THON).

THON, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children's Hospital in Hershey. The money raised by student-athletes and other Penn State students has helped thousands of children and their families in the fight against pediatric cancer.

"We hope that through the community's support of Penn State Athletics and THON, we will be able to increase our fundraising efforts for the Four Diamonds Fund," said women's lacrosse player and SAAB THON chair Margo Josephs. "Penn State student-athletes have been working hard to get more involved with THON and are excited to be a part of one of Penn State's greatest traditions."

Items the in the auction include autographed memorabilia from various athletes, including current and former football players. Authentic team gear donated by Penn State teams will also be up for bid.

Additionally, monetary donations are appreciated. Checks can be made payable to Penn State Dance Marathon and sent to SAAB c/o 301 Bank of America Building, University Park, Pa. 16802.
