UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State Basketball team kicked the season off with a win on Friday, as they defeated William & Mary, 65-51.
Senior Jamelle Cornley (Columbus, Ohio) scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his ninth career double-double. Also, with the fourteen points, Cornley moved up to No. 20 in the Nittany Lions career scoring list, as he passed Gyasi Cline-Heard (1998-2001) with 1,062 career points.
Also, sophomore Talor Battle (Albany, N.Y.) scored 21 points to give him his 17th career double-digit scoring game. Senior Stanley Pringle (Virginia Beach, Va.) also netted 12 points for the Nittany Lions.
