Bouchelle, Davis Recognized as NSCAA Scholar All-Americans

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Seniors Zoe Bouchelle (Cockeysville, Md.) and Jessie Davis (Fairfax, Va.) capped off their Nittany Lion careers with one more honor as they both were named NSCAA Scholar All-Americans. Bouchelle picks up her second honor while Davis becomes the eighth Penn State women's soccer player to join this prestigious group.

This year, Bouchelle has played in every game for the Nittany Lions and started in all, but one. She has collected four goals and five assists for 13 points. Two of the goals came in Big Ten play including the game-winner over Michigan. She was also credited with the assist for the game-winner over Wisconsin. She had an outstanding performance in the Big Ten Tournament assisting on two of Penn State's five goal en route to its fifth championship. Bouchelle was also named First Team All-Big Ten and earned her second CoSIDA Academic All-America accolade.

Davis has piloted the defense to 12 shutouts throughout the 2008 campaign. Because of her efforts, the Nittany Lions were the least scored upon team throughout Big Ten Play. Previously this season, Davis was a two-time selection to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week and earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors for Oct. 27. In addition, she was named First Team All-Big Ten en route to collecting All-Big Ten Tournament Team accolades. She was also a selection the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team.

Penn State's 2008 season saw the first dual championship since 2005 as the Nittany Lions picked up their 11th consecutive regular season title and fifth Big Ten crown. They also earned their 14th-straight NCAA berth. Penn State finished the season with a 16-8 record.
