Penn State Women's Golf Claims Fourth Place at Second Tournament

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's golf team finished in fourth place after the second round of the First Market Bank Intercollegiate with a score of 631.

Sophomore Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia) continued to lead the team with a second-round score of 75 to give her a final score of 150 and a second place finish. Sophomore Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) finished her second round with a final score of 160, placing her in a tie for 25th place. Sophomore Victoria Arena (Lansdale, Pa.) was close behind with a score of 161 and junior Lindsay Cullen (Allen, Texas) finished with 162. Freshman Emily Riddle (St. Mary's, Pa.) rounded out the team with a score of 165.

Junior Katherine Murphy (Portsmouth, R.I.) also had a good showing at the tournament with a final score of 160, placing her in a tie for 25th place along with fellow Lion Carando.

The University of Alabama claimed the top place in the tournament with a score of 609. The University of Richmond and Charleston Southern rounded out the top three with scores of 627 and 631, respectively.

The Nittany Lions will spend the next two weeks preparing for the Canes and Cardinals Classic to be hosted by the University of Miami. It will be held in Miami, Fla., on Monday and Tuesday, April 6 and 7.
