Price Named EIVA Player of the Week

March 9, 2009

University Park, Pa. - Penn State men's volleyball junior outside hitter Will Price (Gaithersburg, Md.) has been named the EIVA Player of the Week, conference officials announced. The honor is the fifth of Price's career as he earned four nods his freshman season while at George Mason, before transferring to Penn State. It is also the third honor this season as junior middle hitter Max Lipsitz (Williamsville, N.Y.) garnered the award on Jan. 27 and senior middle hitter Max Holt (Cincinnati, Ohio) picked up the accolade on Feb. 16.

Price led the Lions to an important EIVA Tait win last weekend as fourth-ranked Penn State (15-1, 7-0) defeated George Mason to remain undefeated atop the league standings. Price recorded 12 kills on .500 hitting with an ace, two blocks and a team-high nine digs in the Lions' lone match of the weekend.

Penn State travels to the West Coast to face BYU and Long Beach State on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14 at the Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif., before returning home on March 20-21 to host IPFW and Loyola.
