UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's golf team finished in a ninth place tie at the Lady Buckeye Invitational, the team's final spring tournament. Next weekend, the Nittany Lions will take part in the Big Ten Championship tournament.
Sophomore Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia) had the highest finish, tied for 26th place, with a final score of 234. Sophomore Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) was close behind with a final score of 235, tied in 33rd place. Junior Katherine Murphy (Portsmouth, R.I.) had a final score of 239. Sophomore Victoria Arena (Lansdale, Pa.) and sophomore Kelly Osborne (Ballwin, Mo.) rounded out the team's performance with final scores of 244 and 251, respectively.
The Big Ten Championships will be hosted by Purdue, in West Lafayette, Ind. The tournament will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 24-26, 2009.
