Chris Hogan Earns First Team All-ECAC Lacrosse League Honors

May 6, 2009

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Penn State Nittany Lion lacrosse player Chris Hogan (Wyckoff, N.J.) was named to the All-ECAC Lacrosse League first team, earning the honor for the first time in his career. Senior goalie Drew Adams (Springfield, Pa.) was named to the All-ECAC Lacrosse League second team.

Hogan ended the campaign with 34 points off 29 goals and five assists on attack for Penn State. Hogan had a .218 shot percentage, led the team with five man-up goals and had 17 ground balls. His 62 shots on goal was a team-best as well.

Adams, who was the three-time defending ECAC Goalie of the Year, earned second team laurels this season, missing out on a clean sweep of first team All-ECAC honors in his final campaign. Massachusetts' Doc Schneider was the first team selection by the league's coaches. Adams led the ECAC with 212 saves and had a .652 save percentage to go along with a 7.96 goals against average.

Penn State ended the 2009 season riding a six game win streak and posted a 9-5 record. The team's 4-3 mark in its final campaign in the ECAC Lacrosse League was good enough for third place. Penn State ended the year ranked No. 16 in the final USILA Coaches Poll. The Nittany Lions will join the Colonial Athletic Association in men's lacrosse in 2010.
