Senior Drew Adams, three-time ECAC Lacrosse League Goalie of the Year, heads into his final season at Penn State looking to guide Penn State to the NCAA play-offs and secure yet another All-America honor. Voted team captain by his peers, Adams has established himself as one of the nation[apos]s premier goalies and his consistent presence in goal will be a steadying for as Penn State embarks on a post-season run.
LION CAREER:
2008: In his third straight year as the ECAC[apos]s top goalie, Adams posted a superb 7.67 goals against average with a league-best .611 save percentage. He played over 820 minutes throughout the season, allowing only 105 goals against. Adams was an honorable mention All-American, won his third straight ECAC Goalie of the Year award and his third straight first team All-ECAC honor. He wrapped up his third season as Penn State[apos]s starting goalie with a 7.90 career GAA and a superb .606 career save percentage.
2007: Adams followed up his stellar freshman campaign with another outstanding year in goal for Penn State. He earned his second straight ECAC Goalie of the Year honor and was named to the All-ECAC first team for the second season as well. Adams had a superb 7.78 goals against average, allowing only 101 goals in under 800 minutes played. He was named ECAC Defensive Player of the Week once during the season. In two years, he has an 8.01 GAA and has played in over 1,500 minutes for the Nittany Lions.
2006: Adams was superb in his rookie campaign. Starting every game for Penn State and playing all but three minutes of the season, Adams collected 164 saves and allowed only 108 goals for a 8.25 goals against average and a .603 save percentage. Adams GAA was fifth in the conference but his save percentage was second. He was honored by the ECAC as both the ECAC Rookie of the Year and the ECAC Goalie of the Year. A first team All-ECAC pick, Adams was tapped an Honorable Mention All-American by the USILA. He won the Friends[apos] team MVP Award.
