The second annual Coquese's Drive for the Centre County Women's Resource Center presented by the Lady Lion Cager Club will take place on Friday, August 21 at the Penn State Blue Course, Lady Lion head coach Coquese Washington announced today. The tournament will commence with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Centre County Women's Resource Center.

The golf tournament begins with an 11 a.m. registration and lunch, followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start with a closing dinner following the round of golf.

All golfers will be entered to win a $500 gift certificate to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, courtesy of Kay Rogers from the Centre for Travel in State College. Nemacolin Woodlands Resort is a family and luxury vacation destination on 3,000 wooded acres in the Laurel Highlands of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

A foursome for the Drive for the Women's Resource Center is $400 and includes meal tickets to lunch and dinner. An individual golfer can participate for $100. Entry fee includes lunch, greens fee, cart, dinner and tournament gift. For those unable to golf, tickets to the post-event dinner are available at the door for $20.

Big Ten Network women's basketball analyst Vera Jones will be the keynote speaker at the closing dinner. Jones also tours the country as a motivational speaker, who is committed to helping individuals and teams passionately pursue their purpose and work together to achieve their goals and dreams. Jones is also the author of "Play Through the Foul - Basketball Lessons for the Game of Life," which uses basketball anecdotes to help inspire and coach you through the fouls of adversity.

The Centre County Women's Resource Center (CCWRC) provides services for people who have experienced Domestic and or Sexual Violence. Counselor/Advocates are available 24 hours a day. There is no cost involved and all services are private. The CCWRC provided services for 1,500 people last year in Centre County.
