Women's Soccer Continues to Earn Rankings in National Polls

Sept. 8, 2009

NIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's soccer team was tabbed 24th in the latest NSCAA poll released on Tuesday. The Lions also earned 23rd in the Soccer America rankings on Monday. Penn travels to the UConn Soccer Classic on Friday.

After a 1-2 week that saw consecutive losses at No. 5/5 Florida State and newly-ranked No. 17/11 Rutgers, Penn State slipped nine and 13 spots, respectively, to their current 24th and 23rd rankings.

This week doesn't get any easier as Penn State travels to the UConn Soccer Classic on Friday. The No. 8/10 Wake Forest Demon Deacons await the Nittany Lions for a Friday clash at 5:00 p.m.

Penn State will take on Boston University at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. BU has earned four-straight trips to the NCAA Tournament.

All the games at the UConn Soccer Classic will have GameTracker coverage as well as live streaming audio and video from Joseph J. Marrone Stadium in Storrs, Conn.
