UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State softball team will be hosting five Fall games in the next two weeks at Nittany Lion Field. The first game takes place on Friday against in-state rival Bucknell at 6:00 p.m.
The Nittany Lions open Fall play this Friday against the Bison. Admission is free to the game as part of the ongoing festivities leading up to the Whitehouse football game against Iowa on Saturday.
Penn State will also play hosts to four other squads next weekend, Oct. 3-4. Virginia Tech, Saint Francis, Lock Haven, and Iona all visit Happy Valley for a two-day exhibition tournament on Nittany Lion Field. Games will run from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. each day.
Penn State opens play at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 against Virginia Tech. Immediately following that game, the Nittany Lions take on the Gaels of Iona at 6:00 p.m. Virginia Tech opens the weekend's play with a game against Saint Francis at 10:00 a.m.
On Sunday, the Lions take on Saint Francis at 4:00 p.m. and Lock Haven at 6:00 p.m. Iona and Virginia Tech kick off play at 10:00 a.m.
The five games will serve as Penn State's exhibition slate for the Fall season. The Nittany Lions open their spring play against Colorado State in Las Cruces, N.M. on Feb. 12, 2010.
