UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State softball team will be hosting the Fall Tournament, as 10 games will be played in the next two days at Nittany Lion Field. The first game takes place on Saturday when Virginia Tech and Saint Francis (Pa.) take the field at 10:00 a.m. The Nittany Lions play two games each day: at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is free to the event where all teams are scheduled to play four games. After the Virginia Tech takes on Saint Francis at 10:00 a.m., the Hokies face Lock Haven at Noon. SFU will see Iona at 2:00 p.m. and Penn State plays Virginia Tech and Iona at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., respectively.
On day two of the tournament, the Hokies cap their play on Nittany Lion Field at 10:00 a.m. against Iona, while the Gaels play Lock Haven at Noon. The Eagles stay on for a game against local-rival Saint Francis at 2:00 p.m.
Penn State once again caps the day's action with games versus Saint Francis (4:00 p.m.) and Lock Haven (6:00 p.m.) to wrap up the 2009 Fall exhibition season. The Nittany Lions open the regular season against Colorado State in Las Cruces, N.M. on Feb. 12, 2010.
