Penn State's Capital One Bowl Central
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Nearly 50 radio stations in four states and www.GoPSUsports.com will carry the Penn State Sports Network's Capital One Bowl Preview Special, presented by AAA.
The call-in program will air on Tuesday, Dec. 29 from 7:35-8:30 p.m. ET, immediately preceding the Network's coverage of the Nittany Lion Basketball team's Big Ten opener at Minnesota. The basketball pre-game show will begin at 8:30 p.m., with tipoff at 9:00 p.m. ET.
Steve Jones, the radio play-by-play voice of the Nittany Lion football and basketball teams, will host the Capital One Bowl Preview Special, presented by AAA. He will be joined by broadcast partner Jack Ham. Members of the Penn State coaching staff also are scheduled to participate in the program.
Fans can call 1-800-52-LIONS (525-4667) to ask questions of Jones and the other guests.
The Penn State Sports Network's coverage of the No. 11/9 Nittany Lions' Capital One Bowl clash with No. 13 LSU will begin at 11:30 a.m. ET on New Year's Day.Penn State (10-2) and LSU (9-3) are meeting for just the second time, with the first meeting resulting in a 16-9 Nittany Lion victory in the 1974 Orange Bowl. Kickoff for the 2010 Capital One Bowl is set for 1:00 p.m. in Orlando, Fla.
The Nittany Lion Hotline airs every Thursday at 6:05 p.m. from late August through mid-March. Coach Joe Paterno is on the program during the football season. The basketball season features Nittany Lion coach Ed DeChellis.
