UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's gymnast senior Brandi Personett (Katy, Texas) was named the Big Ten's Gymnast of the Week. She is joined by Michigan's Natalie Beilstein who was the league's Freshman of the Week.
The honor is Personett's 10th of her career. In a quad meet against Michigan State, West Virginia and Western Michigan, Personett helped guide the Nittany Lions to a second place finish. Personett finished first in the all-around with a 39.225. She also claimed individual event titles in vault (9.900), beam (9.850) and on floor (9.900). She also scored a 9.575 on the uneven bars.
The Nittany Lions are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 16 in a meet at Denver. Action is set for 6 p.m. CT. Penn State opens its home schedule on Saturday, Jan. 23 when it hosts Cornell, Iowa and Yale at 7 p.m. in Rec Hall.
