UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's gymnastics senior Brandi Personett (Katy, Texas) was named the Big Ten's Gymnast of the Week, conference officials announced. She is joined by Michigan's Natalie Beilstein who was the league's Freshman of the Week.
The honor is the 11th of Personett's career. She was also honored on Jan. 11 of this year. On Saturday, Jan. 23, the Nittany Lions hosted Cornell, Iowa and Yale in a quad meet at Rec Hall. Penn State opened the meet on vault where Personett scored a 10.0. It was the first 10.0 on vault by a Nittany Lion since Katie Rowland in 2003. The score helped propel PSU to tie the program record on vault with a team score of 49.500.
