Nittany Lion Gymnasts Sweep Weekly Conference Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Senior Brandi Personett (Katy, Texas) was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the fourth time this season. She is joined by freshman teammate Sharaya Musser (Colorado Springs, Colo.) who was named this week's Freshman of the Week.

This is the 13th honor of Personett's career. She led Penn State to a 196.450-194.650 victory at Pittsburgh on Saturday, Jan. 13. Personett won three individual event titles, as well as taking top honors in the all-around. She notched her second 10.0 on vault this season, posted a 9.900 on floor and a 9.875 on the beam. Personett took second on bars with 9.825 to help her tie her career-high in the all-around of a 39.600.

This is the first conference honor for Musser after she earned her first individual event title on beam. She tied with Personett with a score of 9.875 on the beam to take first place. Musser also finished second on two events, including a personal-best 9.925 on vault and a 9.825 on the uneven bars.

What's Next
The Nittany Lions are back in action on Saturday, February 20 in Rec Hall at 7 p.m. against West Virginia. The meet will be a double dual with the Penn State men's gymnastics team. Live scoring will be available via a link at GoPSUsports.com.
