UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Feb. 23, 2010 - Having posted back-to-back Big Ten victories on the road, a rare feat for any team, the Nittany Lion basketball team (10-16; 2-12 Big Ten) will look to extend its winning streak to three games Wednesday when it takes on No. 9 Ohio State (21-7; 11-4 Big Ten) at 6:30 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center. The game can be seen live on the Big Ten Network.

The Big Ten Conference office also announced the date and start time for Penn State's last regular season Big Ten game of the year. The Nittany Lions will take on No. 3 ranked Purdue in the Jordan Center on Saturday, March 6 in a 2:30 p.m. tip on the Big Ten Network. The game had been held with three others as a late wild-card selection for the television networks.

Wednesday's game will be "Dollar Dog Night" and will feature a Mascot Game at halftime. The Student Programming Association will give away 300 student tickets at the HUB on Wednesday and the Student Coaches vs. Cancer Committee will hold a Silent Auction on the concourse for students only. AT&T customers can get two tickets for $10 at the box office and Penn State students and faculty will have a buy one, get one free option.

Nittany Lion leader Talor Battle posted his sixth career double-double in leading the Lions to a 55-51 victory at Michigan on Saturday, the Lions first win in Ann Arbor since 1999. Battle had 14 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in the game and got scoring help from fellow junior Andrew Jones who posted his second-straight double-figure game with 10 points.

The Lions have shot better than 49 percent from the floor in winning their last two games and have out-rebounded opponents by a combined 75-46 (+29). Five different Lions have scored in double-figures and averaged better than 10.0 ppg over the two contests.

Battle enters Wednesday's contest needing seven assists to become just the sixth Lion ever to record 1,000 points and 400 assists on a career, and the first since Joe Crispin in 2001. Battle remains the only BCS conference player to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists and steals and is one of two players to rank in the top 15 all of all four categories in Big Ten conference play.

The other is Ohio State's Evan Turner who enters Wednesday's game as the Big Ten's leading scorer (19.5 ppg) just 0.5 ahead of Battle in second at 19.0 ppg. Turner, a national player of the year candidate who earned his sixth Big Ten Player of the Week award this week, leads a Buckeye team that has won seven of its last eight including an impressive 74-67 victory at No. 14 Michigan State on Sunday.

The Buckeyes stand a half game behind No. 3 Purdue (11-3) in for the conference lead. Ohio State has four players that average double-figures, but only five play more than 15 minutes per game. The Buckeyes average 73.7 ppg while shooting nearly 50 percent from the floor and holding opponents to 60.4 ppg.

Ohio State leads the all-time series 26-13 and has won the last 12 meetings with Penn State's last victory coming in 2004 at the Jordan Center.
