UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Monday changes for the rest of the 2010 Nittany Lion softball season due to construction of the new softball stadium starting with April 6th's twinbill vs. Pittsburgh at 3:00 p.m.

The new Beard Field at Nittany Lion Softball Stadium, which started construction in March, is currently being built nearby the current softball field. Parking in the grass lots surrounding the current Nittany Lion Field will no longer be accessible to spectators.

Instead, parking arrangements have been made for fans to park across University Drive in the grass lots south of Jeffrey. Fans can access those lots off University Drive near the Curtin Road intersection.

Uniformed traffic officers will be stationed on University Drive to assist patrons crossing the street safely in order to see the softball games.

This arrangement will start on April 6 for the Pittsburgh doubleheader and continue for every home softball game in the 2010 season. Parking will remain free of charge.

For more information, please visit the Penn State Visitor's Center located on Porter Road next to Beaver Stadium or call the Parking Office at (814) 865-1436.
