Former Penn State men's lacrosse stand-out Chris Schiller helped lead the United States to a gold medal at the 2010 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships in Manchester, England, this past weekend. Schiller was a midfielder on the title winning team. The USA defeated Canada 12-10 in the gold medal game.

The United States used a 4-2 burst in the fourth period to claim the crown after Canada outscored the USA 4-0 in the third period to tie the game at 8-8 heading into the final stanza.

The USA went 6-1 in the tournament with the championship game victory avenging the team's only loss, a 10-9 setback to Canada in pool play. The Americans outscored their opponents by a combined 130-44 to roll to the championship.

Schiller was a four-year letterman at Penn State from 1996 to 1999 and was an honorable mention All-American in 1999. Schiller led Penn State to a combined 32-17 overall record during his four-years in Happy Valley, including four final USILA top 20 rankings.

He left Penn State with 85 career points off 51 goals and 34 assists, including leading the '99 team (which went 8-4 and was ranked No. 12 nationally) with 42 points (24 goals, 18 assists). Schiller currently plays for the Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League.
