Quarterback Club Membership Hits Capacity; Weekly Luncheons Set for Sept. 1 Debut

Aug. 24, 2010

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; - State College Quarterback Club President Dave Richards has announced that the Quarterback Club will not be able to accommodate any additional members for the 2010 season.

"Due to space limitations, parking and demand we are not able to accept any additional memberships," Richards said. "There is a great deal of enthusiasm for the upcoming season. The loyalty and support of our members each year for the Quarterback Club is phenomenal and a reflection and tribute to Coach Paterno and his staff for providing us with many reasons for wanting to be associated with such an outstanding collegiate football program."

The Quarterback Club will begin its weekly luncheons on Wednesday, September 1, at The Mount Nittany Club in Beaver Stadium. The luncheons, held during the football season, feature a member of the coaching staff and two football student-athletes each week. There will be 12 luncheons through November 24, with no lunch the week of October 13, since the football team has an open date on October 16.

All Quarterback Club members receive a parking pass, which is valid for the Upper portion of Lot 44, just across the street and south of the stadium. In addition, handicapped spaces will be available in the Bryce Jordan Center ADA Lot and Stadium West. Spaces will be reserved for the Club luncheons on a first-come, first-served basis.

The luncheons will feature a different buffet each week, with a selection of sandwiches, salads, soup, dessert and beverages at all luncheons.

The lunch and program are $15 per person for members and $25 per person for a guest who may attend only one time per year.

The doors to the Mount Nittany Club will open at 11:00 a.m. Registration will take place in the Mount Nittany Club and the main entrance for club members will be through Gate B on the west side of the stadium. The entrance to the Penn State All-Sports Museum is available as an ADA entrance or in case of inclimate weather.

The State College Quarterback Club supports the Penn State football program and is open to all fans of the Nittany Lions. The Club annually sponsors the Penn State Football Banquet, which salutes the Nittany Lion seniors, following the season.

Dave Richards is the president of the Quarterback Club for 2010-11. Pete Rohrer is the vice president, Bob Levy serves as treasurer and Jodi Green as secretary.
