Petra Januskova Ranked No. 81 in Preseason Rankings

Sophomore Petra Januskova has been ranked No. 81 in the preseason Intercollegite Tennis Association Rankings.

The ITA ranks the top 100 players in the country along with the top doubles pairings and teams.

The Freshman standout emerged onto the scene going 8-7 in her first season as a Nittany Lion. During her innagural season, Januskova defeated three ranked teams and two ranked opponents, including No. 42 Michaela Kissell of Marshall and No. 27 Pichittra Thongdash of Boise State.

The preseason top 100 ranking marks the first time a Penn State player has been ranked in the preseason top 100 since Kelly Erven in 1989.

The Ottawa, Canada native also had a successful doubles season as she went 7-8, including victories over No. 55 Oklahoma and No. 45 Marshall with partner Maria Pryishlyak.

Januskova will look to improve upon this ranking in the first matches of the season at the Midland Invitational in Midland, Texas.
