Howe Finishes Tied for Sixth, Nittany Lion Men's Golf Finishes 11th

GLENVIEW, Ill. - The Penn State men's golf team concluded its final round of the Windon Memorial Monday finishing in 11th place out of the 17-team field. The Nittany Lions carded rounds of 303-290-290 (883), placing them at 31-over par.

Michigan topped the leaderboard with a two-over par three-round total, shooting rounds of 285-287-282 (854). Ohio State took second finishing just one stroke behind Michigan and posting rounds of 287-293-275 (855).

Senior T.J. Howe (Osceola, Pa.) led the Lions with a three-round total of 212 (73-70-69), placing him tied for sixth. Howe finished five strokes behind Michigan's Lion Kim who took the individual title with rounds of 69-71-67 (206).

Freshman Michael Miller (Brewster, N.Y.) followed close behind Howe, shooting a 69 in the final round, his best round of the weekend. Miller improved throughout the tournament knocking two strokes off each round to finish with scores of 73-71-69 (213) and even par.

Sophomore Anthony DeGol (Hollidaysburg, PA) shot a three round total of 228,15-over par, placing him tied for 66. Sophomore Ernesto Marin (Miami, Fla.) finished tied for 73, posting rounds of 78-75-77 (230). Senior Jason Cohan (Wayne, Pa.) concluded at 242 (79-81-82), 29-over par, placing 90 in the tournament.

The Nittany Lions will take a break after being on the road for three consecutive weekends. They will be back in action Monday, Oct. 18 and Tuesday, Oct. 19 when they will head out to California to compete at the Mackenzie Invitational hosted by California.
