Nittany Lion Fencers to host 39th Annual Garret Open

Nov. 10, 2010

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State fencers are returning home this weekend to host the Garret Open. After strong performances at the Temple Open the men's and women's teams are hoping to continue the success they have already found early on in the season. The tournament will take place Nov. 13-14 in the White Building with action beginning at 8:30 a.m both days.

The Nittany Lions are in search of another national title this season, which would be the teams third since 2009. Captains Doris Willette and Aleksander Ochocki will lead the team on their journey to clinch the schools 13th straight NCAA championship title. Willette is a returning two-time national champion in the women's foil. Ochocki earned himself a national title, in men's saber, in 2009 in his first year of collegiate action. The final roster of Nittany Lions competing will be decided later this week.

The results for this weekends tournament will be posted on gopsusports.com
