Final Round of Royal Oaks Intercollegiate Cancelled Due to Inclement Weather, Penn State Finishes Tied for Fourth

DALLAS - The Penn State men's golf team concluded their fall season tied for fourth at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate after officials were forced to cancel the third round due to inclement weather on Tuesday.

Penn State finished in a tie for fourth with SMU. Both teams shot rounds of 285-280 (565). Iowa, who is currently ranked No. 17 according to Golfstat standings, took the tournament title with rounds of 276-275 (551). Iowa was followed by No. 12 Texas A&M in second and No. 10 Arkansas in third. Penn State and SMU trumped sixth place, No. 19 Texas Tech by two strokes.

Senior T.J. Howe (Osceola, Pa) finished tied for seventh, after shooting rounds of 70-67 (137). Sophomore Jay Woodward (Bridgeport, W.Va.) shot a 3-under par 139 (70-69) to place him tied for 11. Sophomore Ernesto Marin (Miami, Fla.) and freshman Michael Miller (Brewster, N.Y.) carded a two round, 3-over par total of 145. The two finished tied for 34. Marin shot rounds of 75-70. Miller shot rounds of 71-74. Senior Tommy McDonagh (East Norwalk, Conn.) ended his final fall tournament tied for 56, carding rounds of 74-76 (150).
