UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's gymnastics team travels to Ann Arbor, Mich. on Friday, Jan. 14 for a tri-meet with No. 3 Michigan and No. 21 Illinois. Meet action is set for 7:30 p.m. in Michigan's Crisler Arena.
The Series: Penn State vs. Michigan
Penn State is 6-20 all-time against the Wolverines. The Nittany Lions earned their first win against Michigan since 2007 last season when they hosted Maryland, Michigan and Bridgeport in a quad meet. PSU won with a score of 196.725 and Michigan took second with a 196.575. Michigan went on to win the Big Ten, while the Nittany Lions would take second.
The Series: Penn State vs. Illinois
Penn State secured its first win against the Illini since 2007 last season. The Nittany Lions hosted Illinois on Feb. 6 and won by a score of 196.425-196.275. The squads met again at the 2010 Big Ten Championship. Illinois finished sixth with a 195.025.
What's Next?
The Nittany Lions return to campus on Saturday, Jan. 22 to host New Hampshire at 7 p.m. in Rec Hall. The meet is a double dual with the Penn State men's team who hosts Michigan.
