The Penn State women's golf team completed the second round of play today at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic hosted by Purdue. The team put together a two-round score of 638 (317-321) for a +62. The team is currently in 18th place at the tournament in Rio Grande, P.R.
Sophomore Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) continued to lead the team, shooting a 79 in the second round. This gives her a 12-over-par 156 for the tournament and a tie for 41st place. Hanule Seo (St. Louis, Mo.) carded an 80 today, leaving her with a score of 157 through two rounds.
Freshman Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) improved on her first round score, posting an 81 today. She currently has a 21-over-par 165 for the tournament and is in a tie for 91st place. Senior Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) followed close behind Ceresko, also shooting an 81 in the second round and currently holds a two-round score of 166.
Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) also competed. She has a 172 through two rounds of play. Freshman Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) is competing as an individual and has carded a 160 to this point.
No. 1 ranked Alabama continues to lead the field with a team score of an 8-over-par 584 (286-298). Alabama's Stephanie Meadow and Texas Tech's Gabriella Dominguez are currently in a tie for first place individually with a 1-under-par 143.
The third and final round of play will take place tomorrow, Feb. 15, with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
