No. 10 Women's Gymnastics Hosts No. 17 Ohio State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The No. 18 Penn State women's gymnastics team is back in action this weekend hosting Ohio State at Rec Hall. The meet is a double dual with the Nittany Lions men's team, who also hosts the Buckeyes. Action is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26. The women's portion of the meet will broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.

All fans are encouraged to wear pink to Saturday's event as part of the Penn State women's gymnastics team's effort to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention and treatment. The first 50 students in the Flip Zone section will receive a free pink Flip Zone t-shirt. The shirts can also be purchased for $3.00. In addition, the Nittany Lions are giving away two flat screen TVs, one to a member of the Flip Zone and one to a member of the general audience. During the meet, the Nittany Lions will also be throwing out free pink t-shirts to the crowd. After the meet, all fans are welcome to stick around and enjoy free pizza and a "meet and great" with the teams.

The Series: Penn State vs. Ohio State
Penn State is 39-16-1 overall against Ohio State. Last season, Penn State suffered a setback at Ohio State on Feb. 27. The Buckeyes won the dual meet with a score of 194.950, while the Nittany Lions totaled 193.850. However, at the Big Ten Championship hosted by the Buckeyes on March 27, Penn State scored a 196.525 to take second place and Ohio State finished seventh with a 194.700.

Penn State Breaks Into Top 10
For the first time since 2006 during the regular season, the Nittany Lions broke into the top 10 in the GymInfo National Rankings. PSU jumped eight spots from No. 18 after posting a 196.600 at Maryland on Feb. 18. Ranked No. 10 overall, PSU is also ranked in the top 25 on three events, including the uneven bars (No. 7), beam (No. 8) and vault (No. 20).

Musser Named GOW
Sophomore Sharaya Musser was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the week for the second time in 2011 on Feb. 21. Musser led the Nittany Lions to a season-high 196.600 at Maryland on Feb. 18. Musser claimed the all-around title at Maryland, tying her season high with a 39.575. She also earned titles on floor, scoring a career-high 9.950, and on beam with a 9.925. She tied for third on vault (9.875) and placed fifth on bars with a 9.825.

Penn State remains at home to host N.C. State and Maryland on Friday, March 5 at 7 p.m. in Rec Hall.
