Out of 22 teams competing, the Penn State women's golf team is currently in ninth place after one round of play in Williamsburg, Va. At the C&F Bank Invitational hosted by William and Mary, Penn State posted a score of 322 (+34).

The freshmen were on top for Penn State after day one. Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) is currently in a team-leading tie for 16th place. She carded a 7-over-par 79. The other freshman, Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) followed right behind Vosters, scoring an 80 and finishing the round in a tie for 21st place.

Sophomore Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) also stayed close with the top Nittany Lions, as she notched an 81, leaving her tied for 38th place. Senior Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and sophomore Hanule Seo (St. Louis, Mo.) each carded an 82 and stand in a tie for 49th place. Senior Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) competed as an individual and shot an 86 in the opening round.

Yale currently leads all of the teams following a first round total of 296 (+8). Yale's Seo Hee Moon holds the individual lead, carding a 6-under-par 66.

The second and final round of the tournament will be played tomorrow, March 20.
